Dextrins are also known as pyrodextrins. By heat treatment of starch in presence of acid, dextrins are manufactured. Dextrins are graded on the basis of servity of heat and acid treatment. They are widely used due to its excellent adhesive and water solubility properties

- Forms adhesives when treated with caustic soda or borax
